"Students can only become a real European citizens of the 21st century if their teachers develop and refresh their knowledge constantly."
Our institution is trying to answer the requirements of the 21st century, this is why we are taking part in many domestic and international tender. According to the European Developement Plan our goal is to improve our results at the competency assesment and the abilties of our students, also to strenghten the motivation and to minimalize the dropouts. Our teachers have to try to pick up such methods that will improve the performance of their students and will also cut down their fallback. To take part in a course in a foreign country is a great opportunity for this.
A change in the approach can bring better results into their activites as teachers. With the needs of our institution in mind we are applying for the next tenders:
1. Alpha College of English - course: Overseas Teachers Course - OTC06 - For PE Teachers, Dublin
2. Easy School of Languages - course: English Language Developmentfor Teachers plus CLIL Methodology for Primary Schools, Malta
3 Executive Training Institute - course: Fluency and English Language Development for Teachers -2 weeks, Malta
4. Our colleauge who choose the language course will take part in the"There is an App for That!" course, organized by Europass during autumn, end of September (the fee of the course will be covered by her).
The knowledge of the cultures of different countries will help the developement of the participants. We think - with the methodology courses - it is easy to learn such skills as teamwork and collaborating techniques which help the development of the students. The new approach requires the teachers take take part in the innovational work of the school, this is why we choose the IKT base courses.
Teachers taking part in the English courses show a good example and draw attention to the importance of knowledge of different languages. Students can only become a real European citizens of the 21st century if their teachers develop and refresh their knowledge constantly.

Result to be expected: All of the courses are going to happen in English language so this means that our colleagues language skills will develop rapidly. Their methodology skills will also impove because all three of them will take part in these tipical courses as well. On the short therm their skill to organize will shape, their open-mind, contact list will improve. They will get to know new cultures and meet new people. Secondly it will also be very good for their colleagues and students. They can teach the others teacher everything they learn and they can introduce the students to many new methods, which will make them more motivated. The long therm result will be their improvement as a teacher and the fact they will be much more efficiant in their work.
The most important impact this program will bring is that they will show a great example to the students about the importance of studying, working in a team, learning languages and having international relations.
